Laura was soon joined by Cindy McCain. Their only message was for our need to rally to the aid of those affected by Gustav.
"It's time to take off our Republican hats and put on our American hats."
Both women were the ultimate in elegance and grace under very trying circumstances.
The only other speakers were taped messages from four state governors affected by Gustav. All four were wonderful examples of Republicans showing leadership under pressure. Very impressive.
Again, Governor Jindal was unable to speak with his state being the hardest hit by the hurricane. This Republican rising star is demonstrating his leadership to the nation instead of speaking of leadership at a convention.
